History

pam-and-john

In 1971, Norm and Joan Kruse, who were born and raised in Milwaukee, purchased their 80 acre farm way out in the Town of Jackson. Here they raised their 4 children (Debbie, James, JoEllen and John). Debbie had her 3rd birthday that first summer and received a lovely 3 year old pony she named Lollipop. Mom and Dad each had a horse and there was one boarder. More horses were added along the way. Lollipop also became a mother. More boarders filled the stalls and before you knew it, another barn was built to accommodate them all. An indoor riding arena was added so the unpredictable weather wouldn’t stop anyone from riding. There is also a large outdoor arena and miles of trails through the pine woods and around the hay fields. Joan operated a horsemanship day camp for 17 years which taught horsemanship skills in a safe friendly environment. She and Norm also taught lessons to hundreds of children and adults.

After 40 years it was time to turn the reins over to the next generation. John, married Pamela in 2008 and several years later they purchased the farm. It is now a much sought after boarding stable with boarders who have been with us for years and years. There are always new projects and improvements being made at the stable. John also spends time cash cropping and often has hay for sale.
